Insanely Twisted Shadow Puppets

Here's a great YouTube video showing a series of short interstitials that Michel Gagne created back in 2005. They aired on the Nickelodeon channel on Halloween 2005. I think they are wicked!

A Real Bionic Eye

Well this is certainly the stuff that science fiction is made of but now someone has actually gone and done it. Yup...a Canadian film maker who lost an eye has now had a false eye fitted with a tiny camera that sends a digital feed to record what he sees! Mental. Click the link and read on...

Blondie - Mother - YouTube

The minute I saw this I knew I just had to put it here as part of the Deluge! This video is like a marriage made in heaven to me. First of all I have loved Blondie & the marvelous Deborah Harry for a very long time. Secondly I am a sucker for all things Zombie. Blondie have just released a new video for their song "Mother" and it's full of Zombies. I was so excited I didn't know what to do with myself...so I ended up walking around the house very slowly with my arms stretched out in front of me whilst dribbling a bit (well, ok...a lot) and chucking in the odd moan for good measure!

Color Discernment

Here's a great test for all you designers, artists and photographers out there. Take the Color Discernment Test and see how low (or high) your score is. The lower your score the better you are at discerning colour & hue variations. Me? I scored a very delightful 3!

TAKE THE COLOUR DISCERNMENT TEST HERE!

Zenescope Entertainment

I have been a bit busy of late so there have not been so many post on this blog of darkness. Full apologies for that one but I shall carry on regardless & continue on as if nothing has happened.

The featured store and gallery today is ZENESCOPE ENTERTAINMENT . To be honest I don't know much about them at all so I'll do the cheeky thing and quote directly from their store page to tell you a bit about them. And I quote "Founded in 2005 by Philly natives Joe Brusha and Ralph Tedesco, Zenescope Entertainment is quickly becoming one of the most recognized independent comic book and graphic novel publishers in the world. Their flagship title GRIMM FAIRY TALES, which is also written by Joe and Ralph, immediately found a strong audience and has certainly surpassed the expectations set by many industry insiders". So zoom over to their store and take a look at the wonderful images they create!

The Domesday Book of 1086

I have recently come across this wonderful find on the internet. It's the entire DOMESDAY BOOK (written and compiled in 1086) listing the villages and towns if England 20 years after the Norman Conquest and the Battle of Hastings. There's some startling and fascinating information in there. I have never really studied it or looked at it that deeply. The village where I live apparently had very high taxation and was of medium population including (much to my surprise) four slaves. A name that appears throughout is that of William de Warenne, he was one of the wealthiest landholders in England with holdings in 12 counties.Click here for a delve into history:- THE DOMESDAY BOOK

School Answering Machine

This is how things should be. Instead of putting up with the daily grind and having to deal with idiots you should be allowed to tell it how it is and fight back. This is a wonderful real answering machine message for a school in Australia. Listen and laugh....

HDR on Google Plus

I have been dabbling with HDR photography over the last few weeks and have had some surprising results considering it's something I've never tried before. However if you look through this list of HDR photographers on Google Plus you suddenly realise how far I still have to go. Some of the work here is incredible.

Twitter...faster than Earthquakes.

What a great little advert from the bods at Twitter. U like the way they turned something (literally) earth shattering into a selling point. Clever stuff.
